Guys, it's the last month of 2019, What happened to the year?!
You have all survived first round of stuffed holiday bellies but could there be ways to help our bodies become just a little bit more efficient through the holiday gatherings and food? Maybe...just maybe...
Since winter has hit and we're really feeling the cold, we get that sleepy, want-to-stay-inside-and-hibernate feeling but that's not always the best for our bodies. The body is essentially a complicated pump, the more you move and the cleaner you eat, the more effectively it is to work for you (in theory of course); always striving for a piece of the homeostasis pie.
So what can we do the aid our bodies through that 3rd helping of mashed potatoes with the 3rd football game of the day?? Just remember the answer is going to be simple because... KISS ;) and why not...our bodies like simplicity.
First of all, lets talk how Erika makes it thru the cold months... simple answer? Chinese herbs, baby 😎 Years ago I was introduced to the ancient medicine when I had run out of western answers for my own many health issues (some of which turned out to be genetic so go team #deltaf508 and team #r117h from big team #cysticfibrosis ) but even the herbs have dramatically improved my issues arising from #CF let alone the #autoimmune issues, #hypothyroidism, #thinninghair, yada yada yada of crappy feelings and symptoms that come from being faaaaaar out in left field of homeostasis (yes I really adore this word). Below Ill list links to my absolute fav sites to learn about herbs that help you combat the winter blues (like https://www.activeherb.com/ganmai/ )
or stuffed bellies (like https://www.activeherb.com/baohe/ )
(legal disclaimer since I'm sure I have to say this: I am NOT a TCM practitioner and cannot prescribe y'all any medicines but we're in America and you can do your own research within not only reputable websites but Ill give reference to some local #kitsapcounty #tcm practitioners for those who are curious enough to go receive some AMAZING medicine from a professional)
Catching a cold, to the Chinese, basically equates to an 'allergy' in their world (member...KISS) so when they diagnose you for a cold (or many other things), they'll go over each specific symptom and give you a formula for those symptoms (unlike that OTC cold medicine which only hides the symptoms, not killing it). Below are my go to sites and herbs for sore throats, phlegmy lungs, and even for the big ole flu (yeah... #truthbomb TCM herbs are masters at killing the flu)
as well as https://www.activeherb.com where they have categories to sift thru symptoms and other western diagnosis'.
So there ya have it, a list of sites and practitioners to visit to help soothe your way too full belly of pie https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2019/11/10/vegan-pecan-pie-recipe/
Some more yummy pies because you can't have enough pieeeee!
ps- yes everything I share will be vegan because in my own journey, I have become vegan out of pure necessity for my body to survive. I have seen and felt the benefits of becoming a healthy, well balanced vegan and I have to say... It's been the best decision of my life. SO! chuckle away for a minute and then go make the damn vegan pie because I promise its delicious 😋
