Sitting is the New Smoking

This week we go through and show some steps that I take as a massage therapist to help alleviate symptoms of sitting too much.

Not only will increasing your daily level of activity start to help unwind and loosen those tight, sore neck and glutei but deep (similar to Lomi Lomi) and intuitive bodywork needs to happen too in order to alleviate issues along with education to the client with stretches and re-positional exercises that won’t leave you in a sweat 😅 although we’re all for working up a sweat too!

The photos below show the general problematic areas and how I approach them from the anterior/front prior to working the posterior/back.

Although we have a generic protocol for specific issues, the key to successful and productive body work is to listen to just exactly how the tissues are responding to my touch in that moment and adjust technique and or pressure accordingly. Next week well go over simple yet super effective at home moves you can do to start the self healing process!
